Is barbering indispensable a good business? How lucrative is barbing? How much does it cost to set up a barbershop?
So, in this blog post, we would like to walk you through.
Is Barbing Salon Correct?
Let me correct a little wrong word: it is not a barbing salon. It is a Barber's Shop. The only correct one (here), we could get after a thorough search, is broken.
How Profitable Is Barbering?
So in these days of economic squeeze in the country, any business that brings a daily income of N5 000 to N20,000 daily for a man, married or unmarried, is a good business any day.
Barbering is indispensably a good business. And a lot of people despise the business because they think that one can never be rich through barbering (NOT barbing, there is nothing like barbing or barbing salon in connection with hair-cut business).
Barbering Salon Case Study
My friend who happened to be a barber confessed that he was happy being a barber because he made a lot of money daily from weekends, college students, employees, celebrities, politicians and festival seasons at high junction zero in a good environment.
He was happy because he attracted his customers with his rich hair-cut skill, with enticing beautiful barbering salon banner design, barbering-haircuts pictures and with quality hair-cut accessories.
And of course, you will always notice happiness all around the barber.
“This is my first investment. I am quietly making money in it. In these days of many options in investment, especially stock investment, barbering has afforded me to invest tens of thousands of naira here and there”.
My investments are growing and since many people cannot see the good in the barbering business, it has given me the ample chance to have many shops spread all over, as the rich barber said.
People must always be barbering their hair, shaving their beards. Grooming is part of fashion. It is a daily necessity, as necessary as feeding. After all, there are three most important human needs:
Feeding.
Housing
Clothing
So barbering is part of grooming and it is part of clothing. Just like people in restaurant business, must be rich if their menu is delicious and in a clean environment, people in barbering business must also be rich if their barber’s Shop or salon is clean and magnificently beautiful and their professional services satisfying to their customers. This is my secret.
“My saloon is not only beautiful, it is also a meeting point for guys in this community as they come to watch international football matches aired by AIT. I go a step further to provide Ludo and Draft games for boys here.
Barbering Salon Competition
And of course, I am a well trained barber. People queue up here for barbering. I seldom rest, especially on weekends. Tell me, why should I not be rich?. I am not even supposed to reveal the beautiful secrets in barbering; I am just doing so now because I no longer feel threatened. I have already got the custom for all my shops.
Competition is welcome as I am now even ready to move into other bigger things. But no matter how big I become tomorrow, I will always remain a barber. The barber business is my first fortress in life. People should not look down on small things or small beginnings. Great things start small, according to MTN and also Big Naira Begins With Small Kobo, according to the Nigerian Punch”, as the anonymous barber said.
How Much Does It Cost To Set Up A Barbershop?
We moved to another barber to see if he could feel the same way as the first one. He told us that one needs a shop. It all depends on location, shop costs between N5,000, N10,000, N15,000 and N 20,000 a month depending on where you reside at like Ikeja, Lagos, etc.
Let us use the rate at Agege and outskirts; with N5000 one can have a good shop for two years, plus 20 per cent agency and agreement fees.

Prices are highly variable depending on the brand, quality (e.g., imported vs. locally sourced), current exchange rates, and where in any city you purchase them.
However, so that your beginning will be very attractive, you can start with that amount. However, you can also start with just a clipper and stool in front of your house without any cover (if you can not meet financial requirements). And once you are really professionally good, you will have a great story to tell about your small beginning.
By the time you get the money, then you can obtain the luxury of a shop anywhere you can afford it. What is important is that you just have to go ‘start something’. Don't worry about the cost of barbering salon price list as mentioned to you above if you know your financial limit. Choose something you can start at home or outside it.
